The New Berkeley Heights YMCA is Almost Ready!

We are smiling into the new year because each day brings us a day closer to the opening of our new Berkeley Heights YMCA and Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA! As a community based, non-profit organization, our goal at the Y is to nurture, build and sustain relationships, strengthening individuals in spirit, mind and body.

We are so excited to share that the new Berkeley Heights YMCA facility is scheduled to open February 6! In preparation for our move, we will cease operations and close our current location at 550 Springfield Avenue on Tuesday, January 21, at 10:15 PM (VIEW TIMELINE BELOW). Our staff will spend the next few days packing up the facility and relocating to our new location at 59 Locust Avenue in Berkeley Heights. The Berkeley Heights YMCA Childcare Center will remain open at its current location through Friday, January 31.

Starting Wednesday, January 22, Berkeley Heights YMCA members are encouraged to use the Summit YMCA or other YMCAs in the area until we open the new Berkeley Heights YMCA location. Your Nationwide Membership benefit allows you to access over 2500 Ys in the United States at no additional cost. There are a few guidelines to follow for an easy check-in process upon your first visit to any participating Nationwide YMCA. Click here for the Know Before You Go & Nationwide Membership Program rules.

Communications regarding opening day details will be shared in the upcoming weeks which we expect to make via our website, email, the SAY Mobile App and our social media channels. We cannot wait to welcome you into your new home at the Berkeley Heights YMCA !

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.

Please note that the Hurst Pool at the Summit YMCA will be closed on Sunday, March 31, 2024 and will reopen on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to regularly scheduled maintenance. Group Ex Pro will reflect amended aquatics schedules.
